Alton L. Perry was the father of John Bennett Perry, a well-known American actor, singer, and former model, and the grandfather of Matthew Perry, a famous American-Canadian actor, comedian, and producer. Although Alton Perry is not as famous as his son and grandson, people are still curious about him. However, there is very little information available about him, so I conducted extensive research to provide some details.
Alton Perry was born on August 24, 1906, in Readsboro, Bennington County, Vermont, in the United States of America. He was known as Alton Perry, although his birth name was Alton. He was tall and had white skin, like many other white people. Alton Perry had pure American blood since both his parents were pure Americans. Unfortunately, there is no information available about his parents, but it appears that he was born into an aristocratic family. His grandfather was Crosby Alpheus Perry, Dr. (1839-1925), and his grandmother was Ida B. Cutler (1854- unknown).
Alton Perry was an excellent student in his childhood, which earned him support for higher studies. He graduated in 1931 from Wesleyan University, one of the oldest private liberal arts universities in Middletown, Connecticut, United States of America. Despite graduating, he did not stick to one profession. He was a successful businessman, mainly working as a bank director. Additionally, Alton became a civic leader at a young age.

In 1931, Alton Perry married Maria Schaefer Bennett, a beautiful and older woman than him. After their wedding, they settled in Williamstown, Massachusetts, but were childless for ten years. Finally, on January 4, 1941, they had their only child, John Bennett Perry, who later achieved fame as an actor, singer, and model. Matthew Langford Perry, the famous American-Canadian actor, comedian, and producer, is the grandchild of Mary and Alton. John was married twice, and his other daughter is Maria Blake, Mia Perry.
Alton Perry sadly lost his wife, Maria, at a young age, and he spent more than 30 years without her. However, he did not remarry. On February 4, 2003, he passed away at the age of 96.
